West Ham witnessed the departure of their legendary manager, who gave them their first European title. It was a bittersweet separation of David Moyes from the hammers. Luck never follows Moyes, wherever he goes. Despite having a CV that has big names, he has always been a victim of backlash. With expectations from Manchester United to years of slogging for midtable clubs in the Premier League, Moyes has had little praise for his name. He was recently replaced by Julian Lopetegui, who also has prior Premier League experience. Most pundits don’t see how this is an improvement, but Lopetegui has one Europa League to his name. Maybe the board wants more Spanish tactics than English. The new manager now wants to implement changes, especially in defence, and aims for an arsenal star. West Ham are now looking to take Arsenal ways to make an impact and statement.
Arsenal star heading for West Ham
West Ham have always spent their budget well, especially after receiving the sum from Arsenal for Declan Rice. The Hammers are now looking for another wise investment, and it is from Arsenal. The player in question is promising youth defender and captain Luis Brown. He is leaving Arsenal after not being offered a contract, and West Ham is surely a good destination for the teenager. Luis Brown is versatile and can play even in the left-back position quite well. He also has links with West Ham, which makes him a favourite candidate for the move. Luis Brown is the grandson of West Ham legend Ken Brown, who played 474 times in the claret and blue between 1953 and 1967, winning the 1964 FA Cup and the 1965 European Cup Winners’ Cup. Brown’s dad, Kenny, is also West Ham’s academy manager.
Lopetegui is planning to add at least six players to the already-existing squad. Strengthening the backups is necessary. West Ham have already signed veteran goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme. It took them 25 million pundits all together. They’re also looking for a backup to Emerson Palmieri. Lopetegui means business for the Hammers, and the conversation with Luis Brown only makes it more convincing.
Expected to arrive at other side of London by Monday
“Brown has been training with West Ham and is now expected to sign for the Hammers on 1 July. During his time at Arsenal Brown, who can play at left-back or centre-back, made 31 appearances for the U18s, scoring three goals. He often captained the team last season. Brown also made his Premier League 2 debut as a substitute against Southampton and was named on the bench in the UEFA Youth League.”
Luis Brown has given his part of explanation why he chose Arsenal over West Ham initially but one cannot be seperated from bloodline.
“Growing up in a die-hard West Ham household didn’t make it an easy choice, But after speaking with my family it became clear that there was only one option. Arsenal had the better coaches, the better facilities and the better players. Once I’d decided, there was no turning back. It was time for Hale End.” Brown said.
Everything has come to a full circle and Brown is now excited to play and represent the Hammers.
