Harbhajan Singh Speaks About His Future In IPL

Harbhajan Singh have always been the man with a plan whenever he played cricket. His career as a cricketer for India took him to places and he found his love in a cricket match too. So, the life of Harbhajan Singh revolves around cricket and it’s a part that he can’t ever abandon.

Currently, he’s playing for Kolkata Knight Riders this season. He casually stated while talking to the commentators that he doesn’t know if he’s going to play further. But he’s enjoying his time in KKR. Harbhajan Singh is one of the most popular Indian spinners that our nation has.

The 41-year-old former cricketer has played 163 IPL games. And picked150 wickets at a strike rate of 22.77 with an average of 26.87. Harbhajan has played for the MI, CSK and KKR in his decade-long IPL career. However, he’s not as quick with the variations of his balls as he used to be with age not on his side. Thus KKR might release him for next year’s mega auctions.

Mid-match during his team Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Rajasthan Royals. He spoke about the possibility of taking up a coaching role after ending his career as a player. He would have sensed that his career as a player is almost over. Therefore while talking to the commentators, Harbhajan said,

“Don’t know if I’m going to play further but enjoying my time in KKR.”

Harbhajan Singh was asked what role in cricket will be adapt after completing his career as a player. Then, he said,

“Yeah obviously… Cricket has been the biggest thing that happened to me, I would like to serve Indian cricket in whatever way I can. Whether it’s coaching or a mentor, I’d be more than happy to do the needful and help the team,”

Harbhajan has only played three matches in IPL 2021 for KKR so far. He hasn’t taken any wickets in those matches and that’s what has put him out of the matches often.

Harbhajan has also received a PhD degree in sports from French University. The vice-president of the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA) recommended Harbhajan’s name for the award.

KKR Has Qualified For The Playoffs

After the ups and downs in the league stage of IPL 2021. Finally, KKR qualified and that was even on the basis of their amazing run rate after their last match. KKR won a superb game with 86 runs against RR. KKR vs RR match on Thursday decided the fate of the tournament. Other than Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK, RCB AND DC has qualified for the playoffs.
