India won the first T20I against Ireland yesterday as it was a low-scoring affair.
Skipper Hardik Pandya was happy with the performance of both his batsmen and bowlers.
He especially praised Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal who put up match-winning performances to restrict Irish batsmen.
Although it was a rain-shortened game, the bowlers stepped up for India.
Pandya also revealed that Ruturaj Gaikwad had hurt his calf so they decided to send Deepak Hooda as the makeshift opener.
Hooda did well and remained till the end to finish off the game for India.
Pandya also added that for him a player’s health is more important rather than the game.
He also said that he and the team management will try to give as much game time as possible to all the players before the T20 World Cup.
Pandya said that the kind of preparation they are putting in shows that they are getting ready and better for the World Cup.
He further added as the T20 World Cup will come nearer, they will have a tighter squad for the same.
