Harmanpreet Kaur shook all the claims of a rift between her and the former coach of the team Ramesh Powar. Ramesh Powar was fired, according to rumors, but captain Harmanpreet Kaur denied those claims. She also said that it was his decision to move to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and thoroughly enjoyed working with him.

“Well, it’s nothing like that. I’ve always enjoyed working with Ramesh sir whenever I got an opportunity. We have learned a lot from him and grown as a team,”

Harmanpreet said in the press conference ahead of the first T20.

“It’s the BCCI’s decision who’s moved to NCA. He will work there as the spin coach, and whenever we’ll go to NCA, Ramesh sir is always available.”

Hrishikesh Kanitkar was appointed as the new coach of the Women’s team after Ramesh Powar decided to work with the NCA. Talking about the new coach, the captain had high praise for him.

“We had a very good experience with him when we were in Sri Lanka,”

Harmanpreet said.

“He was always available whenever it was needed. He brings a lot of experience to the team. We are only looking forward and how we proceed further. We are in the right hands. We are fully okay with whatever decision BCCI is taking.”

“He’s very calm. We needed someone who can give that calmness on the field. You would have seen that in the past at a crucial time, the girls need that support, someone who can guide them with calmness and tell them what and how to do with some clear thoughts. We had experienced that in Sri Lanka.”
