Harry Winks set to join Everton from Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Winks has agreed on a move to Everton from Tottenham. Frank Lampard has been on the hunt to bolster his midfield following the club’s relegation scare in the 2021/22 season.

Tottenham was keen to sell the player this season. The Englishman has fallen from grace in the eyes of Antonio Conte. Conte has told the Englishman that he is not in his plans for the next season. This has prompted Winks to search for a move away from White Hart Lane. Goodison Park has emerged as a suitable home for the player with Frank Lampard looking for a player of his caliber.

In the Transfer Podcast, it was revealed that a deal of Winks to Everton was a “done deal”. According to the podcast:

Tottenham are trying to sign Richarlison from Everton and also trying to bring in Anthony Gordon from Everton as well. That’s an interesting move there from Spurs, trying to take two players from the same club. Obviously Winks from Tottenham to Everton is almost a done deal as well. In fact, I’m not even sure if it isn’t a done deal already. It might be one of those ones that it just hasn’t officially been announced yet but is pretty much all but done. I think Winks to Everton.. there is quite a good opportunity of that happening.”

Harry Winks to Everton is “all but done deal”

Winks is a dependable and decent player. He is not a creative genius or a game-changing player. However, what he lacks in creative intent, he makes up with his work rate. He has a crisp and precise passing ability. He can press for a majority of the match. Most importantly, he is rarely injured. Everton has struggled with injury issues in the midfield. Winks is a stable and dependable option for Frank Lampard’s midfield.

No fee is mentioned, but a fee of around £20m seems reasonable for the player. Winks is a good signing that helps to strengthen the squad. It is a good start to the summer window for the Toffees which will hopefully help them reach great heights this season
