LIVERPOOL

Huge opportunity for Liverpool to land World-Class Star from Spain

Liverpool

Liverpool could have a chance of signing Gavi in 2023 after Barcelona were handed bad news over a new contract. Reds have already signed Dutch Forward Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven on a five-and-a-half-year contract. According to Sky Sports, Liverpool will pay PSV Eindhoven between £ 35 million and £45m.

Liverpool are unlikely to make any more January signings though as they are saving money for a big midfield arrival at the end of the season. Injuries and Ageing have left Liverpool’s midfield wounded.

Club’s long-term target Jude Bellingham is also getting interested from Spanish Giants Real Madrid and they also have the monetary advantage to win the race for the Charismatic Englishman. As such, Liverpool’s transfer heads are scouting Europe for alternate midfield signing. And they have a great chance of buying one of Spain’s most exciting young talent. Barcelona are hoping to announce Gavi’s new contract soon. It includes a massive € 1 billion (£880m) release clause.

Barcelona failing to renew contracts

The Catalonian Club earlier announced that they had reached an agreement with Gavi on the deal in September.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported that Barca are unable to register his fresh terms. Ronaldo Araujo, Alejandro Balde, and Inaki Pena’s new contracts have been rejected, too.

La Liga chiefs are not satisfied that Barca have not met the necessary financial regulations in order to complete those new contracts.

Gavi’s contract expires in the summer of 2026 and his release clause remains at just €50m (£44m).

Gavi could move to Liverpool for £44 million

Klopp is a huge fan of the Spain international and if Barca cannot reward Gavi with a lucrative new contract soon, then he may consider leaving the Nou Camp on a cut-price deal.

The Kopa Trophy winner would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool.
