Cricket

Virat Kohli’s rough patch has been a hot topic.of discussion for my players throughout the World. Now, it’s the former Indian wicket keeper Saba Karim’s time to express his opinions. However he has been quite flexible, and left the comeback’s decision completely on Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli has been going through a tough time with the bat for the last couple of years. He scored his last century in November 2019. Not only that, Virat has been dropped to the 5th rank in the recently published ICC ODI batter ranking.

Virat Kohli has decided to take test during this ongoing West Indies tour. He is supposed to be back before the Asia Cup.

Saba Karim looks at Virat Kohli’s unavailability in a different way

Saba Karim is in doubt if Virat will back in the Zimbabwe series. Zimbabwe series is all set to start from August 18th. While speaking to Sports 18, Karim told,

“I look at it in a different way altogether. First, the selectors and team management have to decide whether Virat Kohli is essential for India’s T20 World Cup side or not. Once they feel that Virat is essential for the team’s success, then I chart a path for Virat Kohli’s comeback to great form.”

He added,

“That’s the time when the selectors or the captain or Rahul Dravid would love to have a chat with him and try and take it forward. I would not want to have any kind of imposition on Virat that – ‘Hey listen you have to come back and play the Zimbabwe series, otherwise we will not pick you for the World Cup T20.

Once you decide that he is such an essential player for the team’s success, then I reach out to him, that it is up to him to decide whether he wants to come back and play the Zimbabwe ODIs or he wants to take an extended break and come back for the Asia Cup T-20.”

Previously, many of the Indian Stalwats have backed Virat Kohli too.
