The Indian team is all set to take on the Proteas on the 9th of June in Delhi.
The preparatory camp has started and all the players are sweating it out at the nets.
This T20I series is also a practice for the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
The pacy and bouncy pitches of Australia suit the Indian batsmen more than the slower ones in UAE.
India had a rather forgettable T20 World Cup last year.
It was one of the worst performances by the team as they couldn’t even clinch a berth for the semis.
So, in this series, India will be looking to experiment with a few players against South Africa.
But, there might be some players who may not get a chance to play in this series.
Venkatesh Iyer is the first on this list. While he had a brilliant season for the Kolkata Knight Riders last year, this year he looked quite out of form.
He scored only 182 runs in his 12 matches with an average of 16.55.
With the return of Hardik Pandya to the squad, it will be near impossible for Venkatesh to make a spot for himself in the playing XI.
Deepak Hooda is the second player who may have to sit out this series.
And Ravi Bishnoi is the third player who also may not get a game in the South Africa series.
