India call up Mayank Agarwal after Rohit Sharma tests positive for Covid-19, Six Sports

India skipper Rohit Sharma has recently tested positive for Covid-19.

The BCCI is monitoring the health status of Sharma and have called up Mayank Agarwal as a standby.

India have already lost their other opener KL Rahul who is in Germany undergoing treatment for his groin injury.

The team management has also not announced any replacement for Rohit Sharma as of now.

They will only make a captaincy change if Sharma is unable to play the 5th Test.

Mayank’s last Test match was in the month of March against Sri Lanka at home.

However, Mayank was left out of the original squad for the series against England.

As there are no quarantine issues in England as of now, so Mayank can come in directly to the squad.

India would now have to pray for the speedy recovery of Sharma so that he can partner up with Shubhman Gill in the last Test on the 1st of July.

They are leading 2-1 in the series and would look to win the final Test to script history in England.
