Soon after the t20 action got over, Indian cricket is now shifting to the next league of tournaments which is 50 over the World Cup 2023. India will play against New Zealand for 3 match ODI and the t20i series. Hardik Pandya will lead the short format while Shikhar Dhawan will captain the one-day internationals. For this tour, BCCI announced an entirely different support staff.
New support staff for the New Zealand tour
Rahul Dravid has been given a break and most of the senior players will not be touring to New Zealand. VVS Laxman will be the stand-in coach of the team on this tour. Munish Bali will be India’s fielding coach for this tour. Bali, Hrishikesh Kanitkar will be the batting coach and Sairaj Bahutule will take responsibility for the bowling department.
BCCI statement,
“All three will assist Laxman in New Zealand.”
Bali was already in the scheme of support staff as he participated as support staff for the team tour to England and Ireland and for the home series against South Africa too.
