After two rather interesting and contrasting test matches India and England gear for the 3rd and the only pink-ball Test Match at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India vs England Preview:
The Indian test team caused a storm in the cricketing world when they pulled off an incredible fightback in Australia and became the 1st away team to win back-to-back series in Australia.
The Blues were then brought down to planet Earth when England defeated India by a mammoth 227 runs at Chepauk. But Virat Kohli’s men were quick to get things right and fought back with a 317 run victory of their own in the 2nd Test match in Chennai.
The results of the last 2 test matches will determine which team will face New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final at Lords. Any one of India, England, and Australia could qualify for the final.
Australia will qualify if this series is Drawn or if England manages to get a 2-1 victory. England will qualify if they win both the remaining matches to seal the series 3-1. India will qualify if they win both the remaining matches or win 1 and draw 1 to win the series 2-1 or 3-1.
Now at the Motera Stadium India will face a giant task in the pink ball cricket test match.
India vs England Team News:
India have made one addition to their side with Umesh Yadav returning from a hamstring injury he suffered in Australia. Subsequently, Shardul Thakur, Rahul Chahar, and Shabaz Nadeem have been sent back to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
England on the other hand are still without Jos Butler who was sent home after the first test, Moeen Ali has also gone back to England to prepare for the white ball series. Mark Wood and Jonny Bairstow have returned to the squad along with James Anderson who was rested for the 2nd Test and Jofra Archer who had recovered from his elbow injury.
Expected Starting XI:
India: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(C), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant(WK), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah.
England: Rory Burns, Dom Sibley, Joe Root(C) Ollie Pope, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Foakes(WK), Jack Leach, Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, Jimmy Anderson
Prediction: India Win
England have a huge advantage due to the match being played with a pink ball because of their quick bowlers. Indian batsmen are in decent form going into the game. Ravichandran Ashwin will again be the X-Factor with both the bat and the ball. India should be able to win the match if they play their cards but an England victory or a draw would not an upset.
