India will retain a near-full member squad for West Indies; Sri Lanka ready to host Asia Cup

India vs West Indies, Six Sports

The Indian cricket team is all set to retain a near-full member squad for the 5-match T20I series against West Indies.

The only exception who may not feature in the games is Virat Kohli.

R Ashwin may get a return call-up for the T20Is soon.

The BCCI will be declaring the team for the T20I series after India completes the T20I series against England.

India are trying to give all their players enough match-time while also looking to settle the final playing XI for the ICC T20 World Cup.

The selectors are also in the same line and that is why every T20I match is being looked on with great interest.

Ashwin may receive a call-up because of his experience and expertise.

It is also understood that Kohli has requested the selectors to not pick him for the T20Is against West Indies.

So, it’s more a case of rest rather than an axe.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has recently announced that they will be holding the Asia Cup in August.

Previously, due to the political and economic crisis affecting the island nation, the chances of the Asia Cup were looking slim.

But, now things are in the clear and the Asia Cup will go on as scheduled.

Sri Lanka is currently hosting Australia after which it will be welcoming Pakistan.
