In just 3 hours from now, India’s T20I squad will lock horns with Derbyshire for a warm-up match.
These warm-ups are a part of the upcoming limited-overs series against England.
Rohit Sharma makes a return to both the ODI and T20I squads as captain.
India recently beat Ireland 2-0 at Malahide and the same squad will be playing in the 1st T20I against England.
If we talk about Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, both counties have done exceedingly well in the past.
Moreover, they are occupying the third and fifth places respectively in the Vitality Blast tournament.
Derbyshire have a game against Durham on Sunday and a win will ensure that they go straight into the quarter-finals of the tournament.
On the other hand, Northamptonshire have a game against Leicestershire on Sunday as well.
Shan Masood has been the stand-out player for Derbyshire and with Mickey Arthur as head coach, they have been strong as a team this season.
Other players who have done well for Derby are Mark Watt, Mattie McKiernan and George Scrimshaw.
For Northamptonshire, on the other hand, Chris Lynn and James Neesham have been their go-to players this season but both of them will sit out the game on Sunday.
The two grounds selected for the warm-ups for India are The Incora County Ground and Wantage Road.
The second warm-up match will be played on the 3rd of July.
