IPL 2021: COVID affected Natarajan replaced by Umran Malik in SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star pacer T Natarajan turned positive on the day of the first match of the second phase of the IPL against the Delhi Capitals and was replaced by Umran Malik. He was immediately sent to isolation. Natarajan will not be able to play for now. In his place, Hyderabad picked Jammu and Kashmir medium pacer, Umran Malik, for a limited time.

According to Article 6.1 of the IPL, franchises can recruit new cricketers for a limited period of time for any important reason. As long as the original player is not joining the team, the replacement player can play. Umran Malik will be able to play for Hyderabad until Natarajan recovers. This has been said in the notification of IPL.

Umran Malik has played only one T20 match so far. And played a List ‘A’ match. In his only Twenty20 match against Railways in January this year, Malik took three wickets for Jammu and Kashmir.
