The old rivalry between Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) and Chennai Super Kings(CSK) will continue in Mumbai today in the Indian Premier League(IPL). KKR will start their matches in a new venue but CSK had already played three matches in this field already.

CSK are now in position 3 on the leader board with 4 points and a good net run rate of +1.194. CSK had lost their opening match but came back strongly. The team will be looking to make it a three-a-row win.

KKR are in the 5th position on the leader board. They are struggling to score big, especially in slog-overs. The middle-order is filled with stars but they are failing to deliver. It will be a challenge for the team to fight back and sustain themselves in the league.

Inside KKR

The KKR head coach mentioned that Sunil Narine had an injury. But there is no latest update about Narine’s availability. Harbhajan Singh has failed to take wickets in three matches. KKR may give a chance to Kuldeep Yadav in this match.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is also not up to the mark with the bat. Ben Cutting will be an interesting choice in Wankhede today. We may see any of the Indian fast bowlers among Mavi and Nagarkoti too.

Narine or Shakib will play today for KKR

Inside CSK

Jason Behrendorff is in quarantine and Lungi Ngidi is available for pick in the playing eleven. But CSK may not be interested to alter their winning combination, except Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ruturaj has been struggling during the opening overs in all three matches. Robin Uthappa is waiting on the bench for his turn. In this match, there is a high possibility that Uthappa may open with Faf. Moeen Ali, Jadeja and Sam Curran are in good shape.

Ruturaj is struggling to give a good start for CSK

KKR vs CSK: What to expect

The Pitch of Wankhede will be beneficial for the fast bowlers and also the batsmen as well. Not much spin-friendly behavior is noticed till now. The dew factor can play a crucial role here. Winning the toss teams will like to bowl first. 190+ runs on the board are good to defend.

Probable XI of KKR

There is not much confusion about the batting order in the team. The concern is execution. The top order is set with Gill, Rana, and Tripathi.  Then comes Morgan. After that Rusell may come and Karthik after that.

KKR is relying on performance of Russell

Sunil Narine or Ben Cutting at 7. Then the bowlers Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy, Prasidh Krishna/Mavi. Kuldeep may play today.

KKR team against CSK: Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan (c), Ben Cutting/Sunil Narine, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Harbhajan Singh/ Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna/Kamlesh Nagarkoti/Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy.

As Ruturaj is struggling in the beginning the team have two options. One to replace Ruturaj with Uthappa or Send Rayudu to open. There are no other possible changes on this side.

Jadeja took two wickets and four catches in last Match against RR

If they are looking to bring Lungi in this side Bravo has to be benched which is not going to happen after Bravo’s last innings.
