Punjab Kings (PBKS) will start their Chennai episode today in the Indian Premier League(IPL), they will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). SRH have lost all their games at this venue this year and will be looking to turn the result in their favor.

PBKS will also be looking to start fresh in new conditions. They have struggled to hold momentum and now find themselves at 7th position in league table. Currently they have lowest net run rate among the eight teams, which will reflect on points in the end.

SRH are at the bottom place right now after loosing all three opening matches. Their main concern is lack of finishers in squad. In all three matches they were batting second and failed to reach small targets due to lack of partnerships in the end.

Inside PBKS

Consistency is not seen in PBKS this season. K L Rahul leading from the upfront. Shahrukh Khan is hitting well. But Pooran, Mayank, Gayle are performing irregularly. Chennai’s pitch is different than Wankhede’s.  We may see additional spinners here.

Mayank Agarwal has to be consistent in his batting for PBKS

Riley Meredith has not performed yet that much. We may see Jordan or the spinner All-rounder Fabian Allen this time. Young Bishnoi can play in these conditions as well.

Inside SRH

A poor phase is going on in the SRH camp. They have a talented group of players but failing to find their best playing XI. They have made most changes than any other teams in this IPL.

Vijay Shankar performed well in last match against MI

The opening is now looking good with Warner and Bairstow. But the middle order is too inexperienced. We may see Kane Williamson today. This means Mujeeb again has to be benched.

PBKS vs SRH: What to expect

Both the teams have quality spinners and the pitch of Chennai is getting slower now. Patches are there too. Toss will be a factor in this match. Winning the toss teams will like to bat first. A total of 160+ is good to defend in this pitch.

Probable XI of PBKS

Mayank and K L Rahul batted beautifully in the last innings. They will be looking to do the same. Gayle is not in that good shape. But the weakness of Malan against spin may be tough for the team.

K L Rahul is in the race for Orange Cap

Hooda is also silent after the first match. Sharukh Khan is doing well. We may see Meredith on the bench and Jordan or Fabien Allen into the eleven. Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin will be the spinners for the day.

PBKS team against SRH: Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (C & WK), Chris Gayle, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Shahrukh Khan, Fabian Allen/Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh/ Ravi Bishnoi.

Probable XI of SRH

The team is struggling to find their best XI. The opening combination will be Warner and Bairstow again. Manish at no. 3. We may see Kane Williamson today.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not in good form this year

Virat Singh and Abhishek Sharma both struggled in the previous match. Priyam Garg can also be featured in today’s match. Nadeem can also play today if Mujeeb is benched.

SRH team against PBKS:  David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Priyam Garg /Kedar Jadhav/Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shahbaz Nadeem, Khaleel Ahmed/Sandeep Sharma.
