The newly named Punjab Kings(PBKS) will take on Rajasthan Royals(RR) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday night in the Indian Premier League. While RR will be looking to win with their new captain Sanju Samson, Punjab Kings will also want to have a good start.
PBKS had brought three Aussies this year at the auction. Riley Meredith, Jhye Richarson, Moises Henriques will be good options for them this season. Dawid Malan will be also crucial for them.
RR also was in the news after buying Chris Morris at a record-breaking price. They also had bought Shivam Dubey to concrete their middle order.
All the players have joined the squad. So the management can pick their best players for the match ahead. K L Rahul has returned in good form. Malan is also in good touch.
The players in PBKS middle-order especially the forms of the Indians players will be crucial for them. Mandeep Singh, Deepak Hooda, Shahrukh Khan are available for these spots.
It is likely to go with more pace at the Wankhede. So we may see any of two among Henriques, Riley, and Jhye. Shami, Bishnoi are obvious options to be featured in the first XI.
The big blow for RR is the injury of Jofra Archer. Chris Morris has to take more responsibility specially in death overs. Butler and Stokes are in great forms and RR will be relying on their bat as well.
RR have promising youngsters on the team. Dube, Tewatia, Tyagi are the players to look for this year. Spin bowling is a matter of concern for RR this year.
Shreyas Gopal is the only genuine spinner to be featured in playing XI. Mayank Markande can also be seen spinning the bowl for the team as well.
