All the franchises will play the tournament in neutral venues, due to the pandemic. Same as the last season, the IPL will be played behind closed doors, as cases are increasing day by day.

Apart from the IPL title, there are many other awards such as the Orange Cap, Purple Cap, and the man of the series. The highest wicket-taker of the season is crowned with the Purple Cap at the end of the tournament. There are plenty of superstars who are in the race to achieve the Purple Cap. The wily off-spinner has been legendary with his performances – including the recent showings in Australia and against England at home – for the Indian Test team and will be looking to make an impact in IPL 2021 as well.

In the previous season, Ashwin didn’t play many games for the Capitals, hopefully this year’s IPL performance proves to be the best.

Jasprit Bumrah(MI), top contender for Purple Cap?

No other cricketer has made as much progress as this man with an unorthodox action. Breaking all myths and stereotypes, Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as India’s No. 1 bowler across all formats. His transition from white-ball cricket to the red ball has been seamless and he now has five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England, and Australia.

Bumrah has been amongst the most dependable bowler for Mumbai Indians over the years. He has always been on the list of top wicket-taking bowlers but has never won a Purple Cap. His contribution to the team has been very vital in winning the IPL titles as well. Hopefully, this year Bumrah will receive his first-ever Purple Cap.

Shardul Thakur(CSK) aiming for Purple Cap:

After having an exceptional tour in Australia, Shardul Thakur has become one of the key bowlers for India. Now looking at the IPL, he will be representing the Chennai Super Kings in this edition of IPL.

Everyone would have an eye on his performance this season with high expectation as he performed very well in previous tours. He can be among the top bowlers if he continues his form like this.

Rashid Khan(SRH) to target his first-ever Purple Cap:

Afghanistan leggie, Rashid Khan’s story is nothing short of a tale of hard work and passion bringing deserved glory. Over the years he has been one of the most sought-after players in franchise T20 leagues and with a wealth of experience, he is definitely a threat to the opposition.

He has always been amongst the top wicket-taking bowlers in the IPL but never won the Purple Cap. Everyone would have an eye at this mystery spinner. He will be representing the Sunrisers Hyderabad this year as well.

Jofra Archer(RR)

The England pacer Jofra Archer set the stage on fire for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020 and scalped 20 wickets from 14 games. While he is likely to miss the initial part of the IPL 2021, once back, the Royals would bank on him to fire for them.

The Rajasthan Royals will be eagerly waiting for Archer to make his comeback as soon as possible, as he provides a lot of strength to the bowling attack.
