The IPL 2022 will see ten teams compete for the coveted title. With the 8 existing teams, 2 new sides based in Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be a part of the cash-rich league for the first time. The deadline for retaining key players is over and most of the franchises have created a strong base for the next seasons. However, the auctions will be a platform where they will bid for players who will strengthen their squad and build their dreams to lift the cup into reality.
The BCCI had previously declared the retention policy of players. A team will not be allowed to retain more than 4 players. The franchises can not retain more than 3 Indian players and 2 foreign players. The maximum number of uncapped cricketers that could be retained was also 2.
