Is Mauricio Pochettino’s Time Up at Chelsea? Insider Drops Bombshell Update!

Football insider Fabrizio Romano paves the news about the future of Mauricio Pochettino with Chelsea. The Argentine is currently under tremendous criticism and pressure for being unable to deliver the results. Talk has continued again of Pochettino being on the chopping block after failing to break his trophy duck in England over the weekend.

The Blues faced a humiliating defeat against a pretty young Liverpool side in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Besides the result, the tactics towards the end of the game by Pochettino are also under scrutiny by some. It has already been reported that the corridors of power at Stamford Bridge are looking for suitable replacements for him.

Fabrizio Romano on the future of Pochettino

Speaking on CaughtOffside, the Italian journalist drops the latest update on the future of former Paris Saint Germain boss. He said,

“Pressure has been there since the end of January – Chelsea want better results so pressure remains there but the priority has always been to finish the season with Pochettino and then assess the situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

I think this would not have been an easy job for any manager; it’s a young squad and they need time to perform and create proper group. But of course, football is a results game and so pressure remains there.”

It has been reported recently that there are some at the club who are still long-term admirers of Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim. A major reason to hire him may be Viktor Gyokeres, a striker Chelsea are really fond of. There are reports suggesting that the striker has a great relationship with the manager and can be tempted for a move with him if Ruben decides to takeover some other club.
