India will play its last league match on 6th Nov. With the t20 world cup progressing toward its semifinals, there is still a lot of competition for the semi-final berth. India is almost qualified and has shown a good quality of cricket in this edition of the World Cup. All departments contributed to team success. But some gestures of Virat Kohli did not go well with the opponent team captain. Former Pakistan player blames Virat for creating pressure on the umpire for no-ball calls.

Waqar Younis’s statement:

“Shakib is saying you do your batting, let the umpires do their work. He is saying the same things that we said. That if you are going to call something, you are going to put pressure on the umpire, then of course he is a big name. So sometimes umpires are under pressure.”

It’s the natural instinct of batsmen to react in such a way but Waqar had different opinions. He believes that he somewhat pressurizes umpires for such calls. He is of course a big name in cricket and so sometimes umpires do come under pressure. A similar incident happened 2 times against Pakistan and Bangladesh. He reacted by giving no ball and a wide ball.

Waqar’s fellow mate Wasim Akram supported Virat. His statement:

” I think it’s a natural thing for the batsman, if they see a wide, they gesture to the umpire anyway. I don’t know the laws of today. Maybe a present player can tell us.”

Nevertheless of such incidents, Virat is in his supreme form. He has scored 3 unbeaten and match-winning fifties in 4 matches on the league stage. He made his comeback since Asia Cup 2022.
