According to Sport Witness, Arsenal are looking to reinforce their squad after Italian defender deal looks positive. Arsenal are surely the most unluckiest team in the Premier League. The London club finished their season as runner ups for the second time in a row. Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad proved to be formidable opponents for the Premier League again. Manchester City win the Premier League title for the third time in a row. Pep Guardiola and his squad could have completed their treble again if it wasn’t for Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid. Both the teams face off in an intense match which ended in a penalty shootout in favour of Real Madrid. Manchester City also missed out on FA cup after losing to Manchester United. Arsenal will make sure not to lose their chance next season and improve the squad in required areas.
Arsenal missed out on Champions league against Bayern Munich. This shows the squad is still not good enough to compete for big trophies or multiple trophies. Arteta to improve defense by bring Italian defender
If we look at the current hierarchy in the Arsenal squad William Saliba is untouchable in defense position. The centre back had his breakout season under Mikel Arteta and cemented his place as one of the best centre backs in the league. However Arsenal will surely look to provide Saliba with a reliable partner for the next season. After all the Premier League teams are suffering from injury crisis especially towards the mid season where the schedule is tight. Squad depth has now become a key factor in deciding which team will take home the silverware. Now it looks like the best time to sign new players as the international break is going on. Arsenal will surely have to take care of the Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR) of the Premier League. These rules state that clubs can only spend in transfer window where there is some player sales.
Talking about international break one player who impressed a lot is Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori. He had his breakout season with Bologna under Thiago Motta.
