Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag, is facing immense pressure within the club after a bad start in the season. The Dutchman recently suffered a heavy loss against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. Last week the Red Devils also failed to seal a win as they drew with Aston Villa away from home. At this moment, Erik Ten Hag’s job is under huge pressure and the United board could take huge decisions anytime. And that means he might leave the club anytime.
Manchester United could sign a new manager soon
As Ten Hag’s job is under scrutiny, several names are coming out for the possible replacement of Erik Ten Hag. Manchester United assistant manager and former United player Ruud van Nistelrooy is leading the race to become the next manager if Erik Ten Hag left the club. Other names like ex-England manager Gareth Southgate, former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, and former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel. But, apart from all of these, during the summer transfer window, Manchester United approached the Italian club Inter Milan’s manager Simone Inzaghi to replace Erik Ten Hag. However, the Italian rejected the offer and remained at Inter.
Simone Inzaghi joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2021. Before Inter, he was the manager of another Italian club Lazio. Ever since he joined Inter, Simone Inzaghi changed the club and won several trophies in the last three years including the Seria A title in the last season. Since his joining Inter won the Italian Super Cup back to back three years in a row. The Italian also lead the club to the Champions League final in the 2022/23 season before losing it to Manchester City. So, overall Simone Inzaghi is having a good record with Inter Milan. That’s why Manchester United were interested in bringing him to Old Trafford. However, the Italian rejected the offer as he is happy to stay at Inter Milan.
United are struggling a lot since the start of this season
Manchester United have other options in case they have to replace Erik Ten Hag. And as things process with Eric Ten Hag, if the situation changes fast, Eric Ten Hag will face a serious problem with his future with the club. Manchester United are winless in the last five matches across all competitions, including a 3-0 loss against Tottenham Hostpur in the Premier League. Erik Ten Hag’s men failed to score a goal against Aston Villa last week in the Premier League. The Red Devils failed to score a single goal in the last three Premier League fixtures while conceded three in this process. Currently United are in the 14th in the league. The Red Devils scored eight points in the first seven matches of the Premier League.
United will meet Brentford in the Premier League after the international break. There is no doubt that Erik Ten Hag’s future is uncertain, and the Dutchman could depart from the club at any moment. From that perspective that Brentford match is going to be an important match for both Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag.
