Arsenal are apparently closing in on signing Jakub Kiwior from Spezia. And by the looks of it Arsenal are hoping to announce the new signing in the next few days. Jakub Kiwior plays for Spezia in the Serie A side and is with the Poland national team. The Gunners did not waste any time looking to sign new players after the Mudryk saga. They have already signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton. And now multiple reports have claimed that Arsenal have reached an agreement with the Serie A side. Furthermore, the player is reported to fly to London to go through his medicals. Along with the medicals he is expected to sign the contract with the Gunners, thus making his move official. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth have updated Arsenal fans on this transfer news.
Jakub Kiwior have reached an agreement to sign a contract with Arsenal
Reporter Dharmesh Sheth have provided the Gunners fans on an update about the deal. The reporter commented,
“Arsenal are close to signing the Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior. The deal is worth £20m and it has been agreed. The player is expected in the UK this weekend to discuss personal terms, which aren’t expected to be a problem. He could be in attendance at the Emirates on Sunday.”
Sheth further added,
“He’s made nine appearances for Poland and played in all of their games at the World Cup. Significantly, he’s a left-sided defender. They are like gold-dust in world football. Gabriel has played in all but one of Arsenal’s games this season and he’ll provide competition in the centre of defense.”
Although Jakub Kiwior is not yet a household name in England, but the player have received praise from other players. Moreover, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is one such player who was seen praising his Poland teammate. The Poland captain commented,
“I noticed him [Kiwior] in the warm-up before the game and wondered who he was.”
He further added,
“Then, I saw him in the game and I realized that he is an extraordinary player. He has enormous potential.”
Although this Kiwior news seemingly came out of nowhere, but he looks like a top-class player. Arsenal would be happy to have a such talented player on their team.
