Manchester City youngster Herbie James joins Tottenham on a three-year contract, according to a report.

The 16-year-old is highly value by the City Football Academy. City signed James from Port Vale’s Academy back in 2018.

James originally spent two days a week at Manchester City’s academy. He told the Biddulph Chronicle:-

“It is very exciting. I am really ready for the long, hard journey ahead.

“My whole family support Manchester City so it has been a dream to play in the academy since I started playing football.

I appreciate the support of my teachers, coaches, my big brothers, my dad, and most of all, my mum for getting me to training.

“I am looking forward to playing at the 2026 World Cup.”

According to TheSecretScout Twitter handle, James has now pre-agreed to sign a three-year professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur ahead of this summer. The deal to sign a 16-year-old represents a smart piece of business by Spurs.

Chairman Daniel Levy should now focus on employing a manager who is skilled in developing young players like James into world-class talents.

However, Manchester City’s search for the next big talent across the globe continues. And, reports suggest that scouts from the Etihad Stadium have been monitoring talents across Portugal, Belgium, and Argentina.

James is widely recognised as one of the most exciting prospects in English Football. Tottenham’s investment in the young forward is a significant statement of intent. As the club seeks to build for the future and establish itself as one of the top Premier League clubs.
