Pundit Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher believe that Denmark could be a surprise package at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Denmark managed by Kasper Hijulman have some fabulous players at his disposal. Christian Eriksen and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are ready to show their qualities in midfield. While Andreas Christensen, Simon Kjaer, and Joachim Andersen are expected to make a strong defense.
In attack, they have Kasper Dolberg, Robert Skov, and Martin Damsgaard to help them bag as many goals.
Jamie Carragher spoke on Sky Sports:
“Denmark are in France’s group, and they played each other not so long ago and beat them. If Denmark finish top of that group, France could then play Argentina in the first knockout stage.”
Neville also picks up his dream team
Neville also picked Denmark as the team that could be a potential surprise package in Qatar World Cup. Denmark have been drawn into Group D with France, Australia, and Tunisia.
There is a high chance that Denmar could be the group leader if they manage to beat France on 26 November. The Danes have already beaten France 2-0 in UEFA Nations League in the last international break.
They finished second in Group A League 1 of the competition with 12 points from Six games having five more than France.
In the 2018 World Cup, Denmark was eliminated by Croatia by Penalties in the last 16. Denmark’s best finish in the competition was in the 1998 FIFA World Cup after they finished in Quarter-Final.
