Jamie Gittens: A summer target for the west London side
One of Chelsea‘s summer potential signings has reportedly brought down his fees to around £50 million. The club is also looking to try out a player swap deal to get him.
Since December, the Blues have been struggling for form. They are once again expected to do heavy business in the summer transfer window.
As of now, they are on the fifth place in the league table. They are in race for contention for the spot in the UEFA Champions League next season. If the stay on the fifth till the end then they will be playing in the UEFA Europa League next campaign. They are now in the UEFA Conference League.
Chelsea beat Southampton 4-0 in the Premier League last week. They were in a desperate need of that win. After several defeats in the recent weeks, that win was a sigh of relief for them. Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella were all on the scoresheet in the win over the Saints last.
Jamie Gittens has reduced his fee
The 20-year-old Englishman is set to leave his side, Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Chelsea have already approached BVB to sign their winger for €80 million in the summer. However, the German outfit wanted an offer around €100 million.
As per Sky Sports Germany, the German team has reportedly accepted that they might have to cut down his asking price for the player. Earlier reports suggested that Dortmund were ready to ask a fee around £83 million. Although, they are now willing to reduce the asking price and ready for a offer between £50 million and £58 million.
Chelsea have already approached BVB to sign their winger for €80 million in the summer. However, the German outfit wanted an offer around €100 million.
The Bundesliga side also has Carney Chukwuemeka on loan from the Blues. That could lead to a potential player trade deal in the coming transfer market.

Gittens could be a viable option to buy for the London club in the coming transfer window. So now we’ll have to see if Enzo Maresca’s side manages to get their target for £50 million or they’ll have to work on a player swap deal including Chukwuemeka to sign the player.
