Jamie Gittens: Ex-Man City star to replace Sterling at the Emirates

Arsenal have a huge chance of signing Jamie Gittens in the Summer. Arsenal has received a significant boost in their hunt of the youthful star. The 20-year-old assailant has shown great performance in the Bundesliga this season; should Dortmund find it difficult to qualify for European play, he could be sought for transfer.

Particularly in the offensive section, the Gunners are supposed to aim for reinforcements during the forthcoming transfer window. Arsenal will be seeking an improvement since their left-wing experiment with Raheem Sterling has not turned out as intended. One of Dortmund’s best performers this season, Gittens may be ideal for Mikel Arteta’s team.

Sterling’s move has not gone as they expected

Last summer Arsenal bought Sterling on loan from Chelsea, expecting the seasoned forward would provide goals, leadership, and attacking depth to their youthful team. Given his prior success under Arteta at Manchester City, the relocation felt natural. But events have not gone as expected.

The thirty-year-old has battled for game time and fallen short of the effect Arsenal had hoped for. Sterling has not been able to step up as the consistent goal-scoring threat Arsenal required despite injuries to important strikers. His eventual trip back to Chelsea at the end of the season now appears certain.

Arsenal is so looking for a long-term left wing solution, and Jamie Gittens might be the solution.

Jamie Gittens and his stand out season at Dortmund

One of the few bright points for Borussia Dortmund amid otherwise dismal performance has been Gittens. The youthful English winger has emerged as a major attacking player for the struggling Bundesliga team. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions. Any major European team would find him an interesting possibility based on his pace, dribbling abilities, and goal-scoring instincts.

Former defenders of Liverpool and Bayern Munich Markus Babbel thinks Arsenal has a “massive chance” of landing Gittens’ signature this summer. Talking with Wette.de, Babbel clarified why a Premier League move is rather likely.

“I believe Jamie Gittens will most likely be playing in the Premier League following season,” Babbel remarked. “I doubt Borussia Dortmund will make it past the Europa League or Conference League let alone the Champions League.

“They will thus have to sell some players this summer; Gittens is the player they will be able to sell for the most money, thus a move would make sense for all parties.”

Jamie Gittens might be the solution for Arteta’s offensive problems

Reportedly interested in Gittens are several Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Tottenham. Babbel believes Arsenal is in the best position to sign the young winger. Their expected involvement in the Champions League next season strengthens their chances.

“Given his credentials, he’ll be wanting to play in the Champions League next year, which is why Arsenal will have a great opportunity of signing him in the summer,” Babbel said. Mikel Arteta’s team would be much enhanced by him.

“Out of the other Premier League clubs connected with Gittens, I’m not sure about Tottenham’s chances of signing him, or even Chelsea’s, as he’ll be wanting to play Champions League football next year.”

Dortmund’s chances of making it to the Champions League are limited since they right now rank outside the top four in the Bundesliga. If the club fails to acquire European football, they might be compelled to sell important assets. Gittens is one of their most valued players.

A busy transfer window incoming for Arsenal

Arsenal is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, especially if their Premier League title challenge falls short. Already connected with some well-known acquisitions, the Gunners have linked RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Including Gittens on their team would provide Arteta another explosive attacking choice, therefore enhancing their front line for the forthcoming campaign. With Sterling set to leave and a clear need for attacking reinforcements, Arsenal could aggressively pursue the Dortmund winger.

Arsenal supporters will be hopeful that their team can acquire the gifted 20-year-old and keep developing a group able of fighting for top accolades as the summer transfer window draws near.
