Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of T20 World Cup due to back stress fracture: Reports

Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvi are the 2 most experienced pace bowlers in the t20 world cup squad. But the headache has arisen as Bumrah is set to miss the world cup 2022 probably due to his back injury. India’s bowling is being questioned very often nowadays. There have been loopholes in the bowling department. It was highlighted in the Asia Cup 2022. Although India won 2 home series against Australia and South Africa but the weakness in bowling still persists. The bowlers are leaking runs and some are remaining wicketless throughout the match.

Bumrah suffered a back injury during the Australia series. He was not seen to be playing against South Africa too. BCCI informed that he is suffering from a back injury. However, best possible method to heal such issues is taking an ample amount of rest. Surgeries are ineffective for such injuries. With the t20 world cup around the corner, it is most probable that he will miss the mega event.

According to PTI,

“Bumrah is not going to play the T20 World Cup for sure. He has a serious back condition. Since It’s a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months. Losing Bumrah and Jadeja will be huge for India. However we didn’t expect that things will pan out as they have. He was rested for the Asia Cup precisely to manage his workload management. Now it remains a question if he was even fit enough to play the Australia series. “

Bumrah surprisingly played a very less number of t20 matches in recent times. He was a member of the playing XI in 5t20si this year. He missed many matches owing to his injuries. With the world cup in a few months, it is not a good sign. The player should play a certain amount of matches to gain and maintain his form. Although e was rested in Asia Cup too for workload management. He is young and India’s big bowling asset. Bumrah bowls with an economy of 6.62 and averages 20.21 in t20is.
