Jemimah Rodrigues happy with her Team India comeback

Jemimah Rodrigues, Six Sports

India women’s batter Jemimah Rodrigues was the star performer in yesterday’s India vs Sri Lanka encounter.

She scored 36* off 27 balls which gave India a defendable total to beat Sri Lanka in the first T20I.

Rodrigues has been in and out of the Indian team for the past couple of years.

She did not get a chance to play against England in either the T20I or the ODI series.

Additionally, she missed the ODIs against Australia but returned for the T20Is.

And earlier this year, she was not selected for the ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.

But, Rodrigues continued to work hard on her game and kept talking to her teammates.

She even talked with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant and asked for their advice on how to tackle her current situation.

Rodrigues said that both Rohit and Rishabh’s advice helped her a lot.

Both of them told Rodrigues to learn from this tough phase as it’s helping her to shape her game in a better manner.

The confidence was visible in yesterday’s match where Rodrigues was able to tackle a tricky Sri Lankan wicket.

Rodrigues also said that she has become a lot calmer and her only focus now is to get better each time.

She also added that the Sri Lankan wickets resemble a lot like Mumbai from where Rodrigues comes.

This comeback of Rodrigues is very special to her and let’s hope she continues to shine for India.
