Jermain Defoe is blown away by the performance of one Liverpool superstar

Former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe lauds Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez after Bournemouth game. Defoe was covering the Liverpool vs Bournemouth clash on Sunday. Although the Reds had looked good most of the game but had to wait until the second half for things to really open up. A brace for Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez ensured a great business day for the club at Vitality Stadium. Watching on for Premier League productions, former striker Jermain Defoe admitted to being seriously impressed by Darwin Nunez and the energy he brings.

Although the Uruguayan welcomed both of his goals, it was his work rate that charmed Defoe. He said,

Darwin Nunez is one of those players who keep on going – he’s relentless in his running. At the moment he looks to be at his sharpest. You always know he’s going to get chances and today he got his goals – everything he did was really good.”

The Merseyside club is in a good position for the title with some important players to come soon. Besides this, Nunez will also hope to provide some vital contribution for the Premier League glory to his club. There has been heavy criticism for the striker in the past but he silenced everyone on Sunday. Both of his goals were well deserving and came due to his work ethics. Diogo Jota was also great on the day but Nunez was the real star of the show and as Defoe says, the way he just keeps going sums him up. If the ex-Benfica man can continue with such lustrous display in future, the league title is not very far away from the hands of Klopp.
