Fabrizio Romano reports that former Manchester United star, Jesse Lingard, rejected many deals from European clubs. The Englishman spent his days at Old Trafford and West Ham United in the past few years.
Moreover, he was also a part of Nottingham Forest for one season in the past. But after his departure from Nottingham, he was without a job from a long time. It seemed that he is very uncertain about his future and the clubs.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Lingard spent some of his days training with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. However, it seems that he is now keen on doing an experiment by accepting a move to FC Seoul on a two-year deal. Speaking on CaughtOffside‘s Daily Briefing column, he said-
“Jesse Lingard – He had many opportunities also in Europe, but he wants to try something different. Also he was training with Al Ettifaq months ago. He will travel to South Korea and then decide on this step, the proposal from FC Seoul is on the table and it’s valid for two years.”
The midfielder was reported to have offered himself to FC Barcelona in the previous weeks. Although nothing can materialise at ground level. But he was bound for a transfer. Lingard could surely have been a tempting option for several clubs, even if he’s not the player he once was during his best moments at Man Utd or during that successful loan spell at West Ham. The England international was surely having a huge potential which he never fulfilled. Despite having some huge moments at Old Trafford and London Stadium, he is considered as a wasted potential widely. Hopefully he can play well in Asia and enjoy himself.
