Jhon Duran has reportedly declined a move to Chelsea and has agreed to join another club.
Jhon Duran to ignore Chelsea’s interest
The Blues might have to lose their interest in Duran. They have to look for other players in the market. Since the January transfer window has opened, the club has been linked with many attackers.
Some of the promising links are of Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Aston Villa‘s Jhon Duran.
As per reports, Jhon was mentioned by Chelsea in their talks for Axel Disasi and Joao Felix with Villa. The pair is wanted by the Midlands club.
They are looking for a ‘swap deal’ involving Felix and Desasi for the £80 million Colombian as reports suggests.
It appears that defender Axel Disasi has already agreed personal terms with Unai Emery’s side. The move is expected to be a loan until the end of this campaign.
Emery just lost his main defender Tyrone Mings to a serious injury. They are hoping that the France international can be a option for the short-term.
They are also linked with Joao Felix this winter. The manager has been a long-term admirer of the attacker.
It seems that Enzo Maresca’s team will not approve both of their players to leave without any replacements. They’ll try to bring in some players, as there’s still so much football left this year. The replacement being a Villa player in return could help out both the sides.
Jhon Duran to join CR7 at Al-Nassr
Spoiling the Blues attempts, Duran has reported;y agreed to a move to Al-Nassr, a Saudi Arabian club.
As per journalist Ben Jacobs, the forward has agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr. In addition, the Saudi Pro League side are expected to accept a fee with Villa today.
The Columbia international is all set to link-up with Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia. The Midlands club are reportedly ready to agree a €70 million (£59 million/$73 million) bid from Al-Nassr.
According to L’Equipe, Duran is ready to move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr. He’ll be playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. His current club are expected to agree an offer in excees of €70 million.
The 21-year-old has already agreed to contract terms with his potential future club.
Reportedly, Paris Saint-Germain were linked to a move for the player for the summer. Also, Foot Mercato claimed last week that Real Madrid were also moving in for Duran. They were expected to offer a swap deal involving Endrick.
However, it seems that now the Middle Eastern side has won the race beating both the European giants.
The West London team is also understood to have interest in Liam Delap. Although, Ipswich Town are in a relegation battle this season. The 21-year-old’s move away from Ipswich is very unlikely before the window deadline.
As it stands, the Blues could end up signing zero centre-forwards in this transfer market this time.
Unai Emery’s say on the Colombian youngster
Emery thinks that the forward’s future club will be getting a very hard-working player.
Earlier in the season, about Jhon, he said: “Fantastic, he’s progressively helping us with everything, scoring goals, working.
“We are demanding with him, how we want him to respond on the field and today he did the work. We are happy for him and adding one more player scoring goals and doing the work we need.
“He listens and we had to try to stop his impassioned moments sometimes but that’s natural because he’s young, he wants everything quick and the process he has we are doing. Today he scored a goal, what was most important was how he worked.”
Author’s Opinion
Chelsea are currently struggling with a proper goal scoring attacker. Nicolas Jackson was great at the start of the season but hasn’t been able to carry on that form. The 21-year-old Colombian could be a good No.9 at the Stamford Bridge.
