John Obi Mikel spots something missing in Chelsea.

Chelsea are currently in a good position under Enzo Maresca but John Obi Mikel feels something is missing.

Todd Boehly’s decision:

Todd Boehly appointed Enzo Maresca as the new manager as the Blue’s reached UEFA Conference League Qualification in the last season.

Maresca has managed the team very well during this season. The Unity is very good in the team. The team will be tested on the weekend against Liverpool. However, John Obi Mikel thinks that they are missing the leadership like John Terry on the pitch. Chelsea has a lot of players who are performing very well but they are missing a leader on the pitch. John Terry who stood up for his Teammates. The team is looking for someone who will wake the players up if they losing and will be a presence of power on the pitch.

What John Obi has to say:

John Obi Mikel made 372 appearances for Chelsea, playing alongside Blues greats such as John Terry and Frank Lampard.

He played in teams that won the Champions League and the Premier League at Chelsea and he knows how successful those teams are.

But he believes something is missing from the current Chelsea team under Enzo Maresca.

Speaking on his own podcast on YouTube, John Obi Mikel said there was once no one at Chelsea like John Terry. He took the team seriously and made them so proud.

He said John Terry used to grab the teammates around the neck when they used to perform bad. Obi does not feel the leadership in the matches and he feels like he does not see the players screaming at each other and asking them to wake up and play better.

When you look at the current Chelsea team, there are not many managers that stand out. This is because this team is mostly made up of the infrastructure created by Enzo Maresca.

Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and John Terry have been cited as providing leadership. They hope over the past few years.

Reece James left long ago to influence events on the pitch, but he will play a significant role later on.

Chelsea needs a new Left Back:

Marc Cucurella is now Chelsea’s first choice left-back, with Renato Veiga providing cover for the 26-year-old.

According to Fiorentina News, Dorgu is unlikely to stay at Lecce despite signing a new contract.  Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in him this summer.

Locally, a report from TuttoJuve last month suggested that Chelsea were interested in the 19-yearold’s talent and that he could cost around €30m (£24.9m).

His team like him, so it won’t be easy for the Blues to convince him to join Stamford Bridge.

Dorgu could become an attractive option for Chelsea and other clubs as the season progresses.

Chilwell is likely to leave Chelsea in 2025, so there could be room for Dorgu in Enzo Maresca’s team.

It will restrict the playing time for Marc and Veiga. However, the talent of Dorgu will make Chelsea sign him.

Madueke:

Madueke has scored several goals for Chelsea this season. He performed very well since the beginning of the season. Maresca is not looking to lose him due to injury because he is a very key player for Chelsea. During this time, he has scored four goals in all. The only Chelsea player with more goals is Cole Palmer.

The manager praised Noni Madueke’s attention to detail off the ball, and WhoScored ranks him as Europe’s fifth-best 22-year-old ahead of the team’s comeback this weekend.
