Chelsea has made many signing mistakes in the past. There have been many problems for Chelsea in their previous few transfer windows as well. They have signed various flop players as well. Mykhailo Mudryk, Jadon Sancho etc. However, Chelsea still had a decent run with them as well. However, that was not for long until Graham Potter came. Chelsea again went back to being really bad. Pochettino was another manager who made Chelsea lose their success. Enzo Maresca came next. He is doing really great with Chelsea as well.
What John Terry thought about Fernando Torres at Chelsea?
Long ago when Carlo Ancelotti was the Chelsea Manager, the blues signed one of the best players. He was good at dribbling, he was good at striking, he was good at every attacking aspect. Fernando Torrest joined Chelsea for a record breaking transfer fee at Britain. Everyone were really excited to see him play. The Chelsea fans expected him to dominate. John Terry himself thought that Fernando Torres will play really well for Chelsea. He said that from a Chelsea point of view, he hated to face against him. He was always scoring goals.
Roman then decided to sign him. John Terry thought that if Torres joins then they will dominate Europe and The Premier League. They had Didier Drogba and also Anelka as well. However, he thought that with Fernando Torres, he would dominate Europe and also the Premier League. He turned out to be one of the biggest unexpected flops for Chelsea. Chelsea ended up being second that season behind Manchester United who won the league by nine points.
Author’s Opinion:
I think it was really an unexpected flop. This is because everyone thought El Nino would be the greatest player in the world. He failed at Chelsea however. It does not really matter because we can still say that he is one of the legendary footballers.
