Journalist Jack claims that 26-year old Tottenham Hotspur star was annoyed not playing up front

Journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke believes that one Tottenham Hotspur star was ‘unhappy’ last season. Jack says that Richarlison was frustrated by the then Tottenham managers for not playing him up front. The 26-year old is proving himself to be a real business this season while playing in front of the goal. He has scored nine goals in his last 10 games in all competitions for Spurs.

It has been a rough course for the Brazilian to attain this success. He was signed by Tottenham last season from Everton to provide a cover and competition to Harry Kane. The forward would only score one Premier League goal. And it seems that he was not at all happy with how he was used by the likes of Antonio Conte and Ryan Mason.

Jack Pitt-Brooke shares his views on Tottenham superstar

Speaking on The View From The Lane podcast, Brooke suggested that Richarlison loves to be selected as a striker oftenly. He said,

The confidence element is connected to the football element, because he’s always wanted to play as a number nine. Even when Harry Kane was at the club, he would get p—– off that he was not playing as a centre forward.

Now you might say that you shouldn’t have gone to Tottenham in the first place if you wanted to play centre forward and you knew that they already had Harry Kane. But he did. And he wasn’t particularly enjoying being out wide or on the bench, because you wouldn’t really if you wanted to play as a striker.”

It seemed that Richarlison will never be able to make it at North London. However, under Ange Postecoglou, he has become a player of huge importance for the COYS. He may perhaps argue that getting that run in the side as the central striker has been a real turning point for him.
