Jurgen Klopp have expressed his surprise and disbelieve at Chelsea‘s spending this transfer window. Jurgen Klopp commented on Chelsea when asked about it. The Liverpool manager held a press conference ahead of their match against Wolves. Chelsea have been the biggest spenders in the Premier League this transfer window. Therefore it has left many confused as to how they managed that. Furthermore, the Blues have signed eight players this January. This also included their new record-breaking signing Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea also signed Mykhailo Mudryk for a hefty transfer fee. Mykhailo Mudryk was previously linked with Arsenal but the player’s valuation caused hindrances in the deal. Chelsea saw the opportunity and pounced on signing the player and succeeded. However, the Blues have to offload some players in the summer in order to avoid trouble with financial fair play regulation. They had more incoming players than outgoing ones.

Jurgen Klopp was asked about his thoughts on the Chelsea situation like other managers. The Liverpool manager commented,
“I’ll say nothing without my lawyer.”
Jurgen Klopp further added,
“I don’t understand this part of the business, it’s a big number. They are all really good players so congratulations. I don’t understand how it’s possible, but it’s not for me to explain”.
Like other Premier League managers is confused. Many are questioning how Chelsea managed to sign eight players in one transfer window. Furthermore, there were few big-money players in there. Jurgen Klopp has even been called jealous by the Blues fans as the manager questioned their business. But if people take a closer look they will understand where Chelsea got their money from. The Blues’ spending was possible because of the amortized contracts for a long time.
However, UEFA are going to limit the amortization spread up to 5 years now. Therefore Chelsea plans on selling off a huge number of academy players as well as first-team players in the summer. This will raise their funds and balance their books. The Blues are undergoing a complete change. They have signed world-class players like Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk. Chelsea have also signed a number of young players who could be the future of the club.
