On October 8, 2015, Liverpool appointed the then Borussia Dortmund manager to replace Brendan Rodgers, leading to a football revolution at Anfield.
Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Dortmund, led the German team to two Bundesliga title wins during his time there.
Liverpool initially signed Klopp for a three-year term, but they extended his contract until he left in 2023.
Klopp surprised football fans by leaving the Reds. He explained that his declining health and the need for more family time prompted his departure. His exceptional performance at Anfield speaks for itself, as he helped Liverpool reach extraordinary levels of success during his time there.
Currently, the recently appointed coach of Liverpool, Arne Slot, is achieving victories by following in the footsteps of his predecessor.
However, the news is circulating that the previous manager of Anfield has confirmed his return to football, albeit in a different role..
Jurgen Klopp And His New Job
The former Liverpool FC coach will soon re-enter football, but not as a coach this time. As per thisisanfield.com, Klopp is making a comeback in the football world, but he is taking on a different role than he did as a manager.
The German will assume the role of global head of Red Bull’s football operations on January 1, overseeing the company’s club network.
Red Bull announced that Klopp will support sports directors in promoting the Red Bull philosophy, rather than managing daily club operations.
He will use his wide-reaching connections to help find top talent and to support coaching training and development. This new role, Klopp will focus on mentoring the numerous coaches within the Red Bull Group instead of taking on coaching responsibilities.
Jurgen also mentioned that he is extremely thrilled to join a project like this after having spent nearly 25 years on the sidelines.
He added that although the responsibility may be different now, his love for the sport of football and the individuals who shape its essence remains unchanged.
However, reports suggest that Klopp’s contract includes a clause that he can trigger if the opportunity to become the manager of the German national team arises.
Jurgen Klopp’s Statement On His New Role
“There are many ways that we can do this front using the elite knowledge and experience that Red Bull possesses to learning from other sports and other industries. I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs but ultimately, I am one part of an organization that is unique, innovative and forward-looking. As I said, this could not excite me more. Together we can discover what is possible“.
What is Red Bull’s Footballing Project?
