According to sources, Jurgen Klopp is desperately “calling every day” as Liverpool work on the signing of Enzo Fernandez.
Klopp is taking an even more hands-on role for the Reds as they try to strengthen their squad in January.
Benfica midfielder has emerged as an incredible talent at Qatar World Cup. The 21-years old has caught the eye all over the world after his outstanding performances which helped Albiceleste to become champions of the world.
Liverpool finds Fernandez as their new target for the January transfer window. It is unlikely they can lure Jude Bellingham from Brossia Dortmund who was their priority signing but seems like they’d settle with Fernandez.
Klopp to secure a signing in the January transfer window
Klopp has laughed off the possibility of signing England International next month. But has been made clear that Liverpool are in the market for the new signing.
“January window? We are looking and if something happens, we will see. From a sports side, we are always prepared,”
, he said at a conference.
Klopp’s number one priority is to secure a signing of a Central midfielder. Contacts have already been made with Benfica over a potential transfer of Enzo Fernandez.
The Anfield boss said to be “calling every day” in order to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.
Fernandez has a release clause of £ 105 million in his contract. There were also reports from Portugal that Benfica have rejected an offer of £88m from an unnamed club.
The midfielder moved to a Portuguese club this summer from River Plate and has 10 International caps so far. His value has increased after his stellar performance in World Cup.
