Jürgen Klopp starts his new adventure at “world famous franchise”

Former Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, has been appointed as the new global head of soccer for the famous franchise Red Bull. The 57-year-old took a break after stepping down as Liverpool boss at the end of last season. The German has reached an agreement with Red Bull and has signed a long term contract starting from 2025.

Klopp was linked with the German national team on becoming the next head coach. However, he chose to begin a chapter in his life, something different. The 57-year old will have a behind the scenes role at Red Bull’s football clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls.

He will help the clubs operate in a disciplined and settled way. Along with this, he will implement his footballing philosophy and ideas here. He’ll also be responsible for recruiting players and coaching staff.

Oliver Mintzlaff, the current CEO of Red Bull has claimed that this is one of their strongest signings in the history of this franchise. He was instrumental in luring Klopp to this job. The group believes that the German is a great personality and has the aura to achieve big things.

Klopp beleives that he wants to embrace this new experience and learn new things. Speaking in an interview, he says;

“After almost 25 years on the sidelines, I couldn’t be more excited to be involved in a project like this.”

Dortmund fans bristle with rage over Jürgen’s decision

Borussia Dortmund supporters were left stunned when Klopp was announced as Red Bull’s global head of soccer. This is the 57-year old’s first job since leaving Dortmund and Liverpool as a manager.

Most clubs in Germany despise Red Bull Leipzig for known reasons. Klopp joining this franchise has just blown the steam off their heads. Fans have also claimed that this move has tainted his legacy at Dortmund forever. They even claimed that Klopp “is dead for me”.

RB Leipzig are a controversial club in Germany as they opposed Bundesliga’s 50+1 ownership model which allows the fans to have a say in big decisions of the club as well. Traditional German fans often label the club as a “franchise team” because of the way they are run.

BVB fans have also stated that “football is dead” and some “feel sick” when they hear this news coming from Germany. Not only Dortmund fans, most of the people in Germany are somewhat disappointed at this move and do not support it at all.

Klopp has also been accused of running behind money instead of his passion for football. They have claimed that the 57-year old has chosen this move for financial purposes and has killed his sporting principles and discipline.

A football pundit at Sport1 says;

“Destroyed his image with one step and sold out on everything he stood for all these years.”

Klopp getting massive money from Red Bull

Jürgen Klopp has signed a contract with Austrian brand Red Bull’s soccer department. Reportedly, the German will receive more salary than eighteen Premier league managers’ salary.

The 57-year old has signed a lucrative long term contract starting from 2025. According to Sky Sports, the German will be earning £8-10million at his new adventure. This figure is only lesser than Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola who earn £10million and £20million at Arsenal and Man City respectively.

However, Klopp used to earn more bucks at Liverpool. He used to receive a humongous salary of £15million which made him the second highest paid manager at the Premier league.

The 57-year old had taken a break from coaching after leaving the Liverpool job last season. Now he wants to try something new in his career. He has signed a long term contract but he can exit anytime if he receives an offer he can’t refuse.

He will begin his new job from January 1, 2025. It’s quite some time, he can assess his knowledge about the organisation and prepare his plans accordingly. He is heavily linked to Die Mannschaft on replacing Nagelsmann as the manager. However, the 57-year old isn’t thinking about that job at the moment.
