AS Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni has caught the eyes of the whole of Europe with his splendid performances. Chelsea was very keen on signing the Tchouameni. Now, it seems like it would be a hard-fought battle with Italian giants Juventus to get the player’s signatures.

Chelsea tried to rope in the Frenchman this season with interests from Manchester United as well. Both clubs however failed to get the signatures of Tchouameni and Chelsea ending up signing Atletico midfielder Saul. Juventus however have reportedly gained interest in Tchouameni and is in the race against Chelsea and Manchester United.

Although AS Monaco decided to keep Tchoameni this season, it seems imminent that the clubs will be back next summer to sign the midfielder. Chelsea who seemed favorites to sign him this summer will have to compete with Juventus.

Why are Juventus keen on signing Tchouameni?

Last season, Juventus struggled in midfield and their main target now is to strengthen their midfield. As Pjanic, Emre Can, and Matuidi left Juventus, their midfielders struggled throughout last season. New young midfielders Weston Meckennie and Arthur lacked intensity. The Bianconneri also lost their Seria-A title forcing Juve to look for midfielders.

The Bianconneri look to strengthen their midfield with the signing of Tchouameni next summer. With Locatelli already added to the Juventus Midfield, the Tchouameni signing will be crucial for Juventus to regain their Seria-A throne back from Inter Milan.

Tchouameni on the other hand is a serious talent in the midfield. The 21-year-old has played 68 matches in the Ligue-1 so far with AS Monaco as well as Bordeaux. He recently also received his first international call-up and managed to make a solid debut as well. French superstar Pual Pogba also recognized the youngster’s talent in a recent interview.

With all the clubs surrounding sharks around Tchoameni to get his signature, it would be interesting to see next summer what club Aurelien prefers.
