Juventus teasing a summer move for Arsenal midfielder

Arsenal have to beware of Juventus who are plotting a summer move for Thomas Partey. According to Italian outlet TuttoSport, Juventus are highly interested in signing Partey who joined the Gunners in the summer of 2020. The Ghanaian was signed on the deadline from Atletico Madrid by Arsenal. The Gunners triggered the £45 million release clause of Partey which facilitated his move. Since joining them, Partey has made 55 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.

Mikel Arteta considered Partey’s signing as a crucial part of his Arsenal plans. Arsenal brought in the Europa league winner to take them to the next level. However, a series of injuries marred his debut season with the Gunners. But Partey has come full circle for the Gunners this season, putting in solid performances consistently. Meanwhile, Juventus are struggling in Serie A, merely finishing in the top four last season, and fighting for the same this time around too. The Bianconeri want Partey to reinforce their squad, which has been weakened due to the departures of many first-team players this season.

Juventus readying an offer for the Arsenal man

Thomas Partey is finally flourishing at Arsenal following his highly-anticipated move from Atletico. The midfielder may have taken one full season to settle in the premier league, the results are finally showing. Partey has stepped-up massively this season for Arsenal, helping the Gunners go fourth in the table. The midfield engine has played 22 games so far this season, with an average rating of almost 7 from whoscored.com. No surprise that Juventus have come poaching for the Arsenal midfielder.

TuttoSport further reports that Juventus are ready with a bid for Partey. However, the bid reportedly stands at £33.5 million, over £10 million less for what Arsenal paid to Atletico. It would be far from the convincing offer for the Gunners. Moreover, Partey’s contract with Arsenal runs down till the summer of 2025, which would further complicate any deal for Juventus. Arsenal too would quash any offers for the midfielder given his growing importance in the squad.

Juventus move for Partey easier said than done

While there are all the reports and rumors about Juventus prepping a substantial offer for Partey, he looks far away from leaving Arsenal. Apart from the fee, Arsenal have invested heavily in Partey to get them back to regular European football. Partey boasts an impressive CV of European football, spending five seasons in the Champions League and winning the Europa League with Atletico. Arsenal knows that Partey’s experience can help the club if they qualify for European football. Moreover, Arteta is on the verge of taking Arsenal back to the Champions League with a top-four finish, and if they do qualify, no chance the manager lets one of his very important players leave.

Partey’s importance for Arsenal was highlighted more than ever in February when he won the club’s player of the month award. He helped Arsenal to three league wins out of three in February, all of which demanded utmost defensive work. Partey ran the Gunners’ midfield and earned high praise from Arteta.

Partey is showing no signs of slowing down at Arsenal and would keep a Juventus move at an arm’s length. Moreover, it’s almost impossible at the moment to see Arsenal green light his departure in the foreseeable future. However, Juventus may still be tempted to test Arsenal with an offer in the summer.
