BCCI has decided to send India opener and vice-captain KL Rahul to Germany.
He will most probably fly out by the end of this month or July first week.
Rahul is suffering from a constant groin injury that will require a more detailed treatment.
The only thing this treatment will cost Rahul is his place on the Indian team.
The BCCI has not named any replacement and will only make a change if the team management requires it.
Mayank Agarwal is being looked at as a possible option for Rahul.
The BCCI will also have to name another deputy under Rohit Sharma as Rahul will not be available for all the seven games of the England tour.
India will start the tour with the rescheduled 5th Test at Edgbaston after which they will play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against England.
The BCCI also confirmed Rahul’s journey to Germany through a statement.
Rahul has so far played 43 Tests, 42 ODIs and 56 T20Is and has not appeared in any international games for India since February this year.
However, he survived the 2-month long IPL ordeal as Lucknow Super Giants’ skipper.
