Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly looking to add a new goalkeeper to his summer rebuild. As current backup Caoimhin Kelleher is rumored to be leaving Anfield. Klopp is said to be searching for a top-class shot-stopper to provide competition for first-choice keeper Alisson Becker. Even though the Reds have struggled for the entirety of this season. Alisson Becker has been one of the players who has rarely disappointed.

According to reports, Klopp is looking to sign an “outstanding” goalkeeper who can push Alisson to his limits and be ready to step in when needed. Jurgen Klopp has been full of praise for Kelleher and has even said this in favour of the Irish goalkeeper,

“Caoimh is an outstanding goalie, he’s our goalie, that’s absolutely great. A club like us, with all the games we have, needs a goalie of his quality, definitely. But if we have something to talk about then I think it would make sense that we speak in between,”

It’s clear that he has the ambition to be a No. 1, but everything must be right. Being the No. 1 in the wrong club, all of a sudden you look like you’re not that good a goalie. Our style suits him very well.”

What will Klopp do to fill Kelleher’s departure?

Kelleher’s potential departure could leave Liverpool with a void in their goalkeeping department. The Irishman has impressed when given the chance, but is believed to be looking for regular first-team football elsewhere.

The Reds will undoubtedly have a busy summer transfer window, with Klopp looking to strengthen his squad in several areas. The addition of a top-class goalkeeper would certainly add some depth and competition to the squad. But it remains to be seen who will be the lucky player to join the Anfield outfit in the summer.
