Manchester United are having a disappointing season. The club and its players are declining every match week and difference is obvious. One such player who is on a constant decline is Casemiro. After he was signed from Real Madrid he looked like the solution to all their problems. It can be said without hesitation that he transformed the whole club and became in key figure in Erik Ten Hag’s side. Due to his towering presence players like Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes got full freedom to show their creativity on the field.
However Casemiro has shown signs of decline this year, with concerns over his positioning, dribbling, and cards received. We ca say the injuries, the quality of the league, and the team’s structure may be contributing factors to the Brazilian’s decline. Casemiro’s age and the excessive amount of shuttling required due to United’s poor possession game have also been a major factor. However it is being speculated Casemiro may join any Saudi team next season.
What’s next for youngsters like Kobbie Mainoo
It clear that Casemiro like many other players will need a replacement this summer. However Manchester United may have the perfect replacement for Casemiro. A player who will also pair up well with Kobbie Mainoo. That player is the academy product Angel Gomes. After leaving Manchester United due to lack of playing time Angel Gomes is now making waves at France. His 91 per cent pass completion rate and seven assists is higher than any Man United midfielder.
His stats also are shown to be better than Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo. Gomes’ ability to open up the with his through balls is also incredible. Something that is needed by Ten Hag and United for a very long time. After criticism that strikers are not given proper balls, we can expect Gomes to be an ideal signing.
