Here is where I will conveniently dump two cents on this—I believe that if Chelsea has to sign a player, and I mean sign contractual fees, that probably is Kobbie Mainoo. We would be picking up a future star, but we would be robbing United of something they value—and that’s one more new signing. The fanbase is already on a knife edge, so poaching one of their brightest prospects would send them completely off the scale. And who wouldn’t like to have such entertainment?
We could use all the talent we can get, and besides that, our season’s gone this way. But if Mainoo does jump ship, Stamford Bridge could be the right place for him to blossom.
