The batting sensation and former Indian team Virat Kohli admitted that he was feeling really low mentally. This eventually resulted in him taking a break from the game of cricket. Kohli has been on rest since the England tour where he was last seen. The 33-year-old has been in very bad form for the past few years.

Kohli only managed to score 76 runs across all matches that he played. Kohli made his appearance in one test, two T20I, and two ODI. After this series, Kohli was not seen in the tours where India played against Zimbabwe and West Indies. Now, India’s batting great will be seen in the Indian colors with his return on the 28th of Aug against Pakistan. Furthermore, Kohli is now looking to be back in his form and play something he is always known for.

Kohli’s word on his low phase

Although, Kohli is an aggressor and often fiery on the field. His aggression has also put India in a winning position in most of the matches. However, recently, Kohli expressed his low mental health due to which he missed the tours after playing in England. Virat Kohli previously faced this period back in 2014 on the tour against England. Kohli in a video that was shared by the official broadcasters of the Asia Cup said

“For the first time in 10 years, I didn’t touch my bat for a month. I came to the realization that I was trying to fake my intensity a bit recently. I was convincing myself that no, you had the intensity. But your body was telling you to stop. The mind was telling me to take a break and step back, I’m looked at as a guy who is mentally very strong and I am. But everyone has a limit and you need to recognize that limit, otherwise, things can get unhealthy for you. This period taught me a lot of things that I wasn’t allowed to come to the surface. When they eventually came up, I embraced them.”
