The Indian U-19 team have been unstoppable in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup in West Indies. The young heroes are set to face England in the final on 5 February at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. Despite a lack of ideal preparation ahead of the tournament, the team has gone against all odds to stay unbeaten in their campaign.

“Some valuable tips from the GOAT ahead of the finals,” India U19 player Kaushal Tambe said in his Instagram Story.

Chasing the dream

As the Boys In Blue feel the heat of the all-important finale, modern-day great Virat Kohli interacted with the players to boost their morale. Kohli has himself been in the exact same situation 14 years back. In 2008, a young Kohli led his side to victory against the Proteas in Kuala Lumpur to be the U-19 World Champions.

“It was really good to interact with you @virat.kohli bhaiyaa. Learnt some important things about life and cricket from you which will help us in getting better in upcoming times,” all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar said.

Who knew that the same cricketer will go on to reach even bigger heights in international cricket and bring glory to the nation across all formats. Cricketers like Kohli are a perfect example of how a player advances step by step to perform consistently at each level and compete with the best of the world.

A glorious past aspiring to leave a legacy for future

India U-19 will play their 4 successive final in ICC U-19 WC since 2016. India has been the most successful side in the history of the championship. While the youngsters aim to repeat the success of past years, captain Yash Dhull and co. will definitely remember Kohli’s wise words for the rest of their lives.
