In a conversation after the match, Virat Kohli told Harsha Bhogle that he is going to keep playing only one format. It was expected by the fans that the BCCI might have persuaded him to change his mind, but Kohli didn’t pay any attention to that rumor. By his words, he shut down the speculation of him playing Tests again.
Earlier this year, after 123 Tests and 29 centuries, Kohli stepped down, slightly short of 10,000 runs. The knockout against South Africa in the recent match has led to loud voices asking for his comeback, however, he is still holding firm to his decision.

Kohli was back to his best in an ODI innings as India set a target of 349 runs. No one would have expected his aggressive play in the powerplay. He took on the pacers and India remained comfortable after the departure of Rohit Sharma for 57. The duo racked up 136 runs and it felt as if time had stopped. Kohli not only made another ODI century but also was adjudged the Player of the Match. His mind set and fitness oriented lifestyle are basically his continuous performance.

Virat Kohli’s decision to be so clear is worthy of being admired. His decision is a sign of his being disciplined and not his declining. Although fans may be longing to see him wear the whites, his sticking to one format can be the reason that his brilliance in limited-overs can go on for India.
