It was a roller coaster ride yet again for RCB fans and for the franchise itself. RCB started their year in full swing and won four consecutive matches. Then they also played well in the second half the tournament and secured their tickets to playoffs pretty early. And they totally deserved to be in top 2 but later they couldn’t there with a small margin.

The eliminator one was a complete thriller for both the teams but the day favored more towards KKR. And RCB lost the match and ended their season along the end of Kohli’s captaincy for the team.

Why Kohli Stepped Down the RCB Captancy

Virat became the captain of the Indian Cricket team after MSD decided to give the captaincy to Kohli in 2016. And he was appointed as a captain of RCB in 2013 replacing the former captain Daniel Vettori. And since then he has played tremendous cricket. Though, Royal Challengers Bangalore never won the trophy even after reaching to finals a couple of times.

Kohli expressed why he came to this decision and said;

“Firstly workload was the main factor and I didn’t want to be dishonest towards my responsibility. If I cannot give 120% to something, I am not someone who would hold onto something, I am not attached to something like that and that was always very clear in my mind,”

Nonetheless, run-machine-Kohli won’t be skipping for RCB from next year but he has also said that he will be only playing for RCB till the next game. However, fans didn’t expect that Kohli will leave captaincy soon.
